Legislative Focus
By global hoosier
I am a 1971 graduate of GC and a 1983 graduate of Akron Law School.
In my work with a national legislature of a foreign country, I became very aware of the highest importance of the statutory law in the life of any nation.
So, when I moved back to Indiana in 1990, I focussed on understanding our state legislature and the US Congress.
Since our local reps, Donnelly and Souder, are 2 persons responsible for approving or disapproving the federal budget, it is highly important that we be able to persuade them regarding any peace issue.
At present, Congress is set to approve ( or disapprove) a 30 Billion supplemental funding for the Afghanistan "war".
I write letters to the local newspapers in an attempt to affect public opinion, as my way of working for peace.
Sincerely, Joe Lehman
